Yes, GOOD GRIEF did meet in a virtual grief group—and they’re crying out about it.
Ella Scudder-Davis (she/her) and Wendy Walcoff (she/they) met in a young adult grief group in 2023 after they both lost their dads. After orbiting each other in group discussions, Ella and Wendy became fast friends and collaborators, and songwriting emerged as a nexus from which they could explore how to create meaningful lives in the face of profound loss.
Their resulting project, Seattle-based GOOD GRIEF, weaves the intricate poetics of folk lyricism and a healthy dose of rock angst into a tragi-comic tapestry of love and loss. A dad-given superhero obsession has led them into a multiverse where grief is a perpetual body-double—and a real b*tch. Their debut single, “Bait Shop” (June 12, 2026), introduces GOOD GRIEF’s confrontation with how grief changes us in every aspect of life: friends, family, faith, and certainly f*cking.
